My boy has just been elected President of SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise). This is really a BIG deal. SIFE is an international organization that helps students around the world make a difference in their communities and teaches them to become responsible leaders in the business world. Ever since Neil enrolled last September he has been driven do to really well, and to become an integral part of SIFE. He was part of the presentation team that went to Calgary a few weeks ago and won second place in the Western Division. In May, they go to Toronto and compete in a much bigger field. I am not sure if it is just Canadian, North American or part of a world competition, but they are going to compete and I hope they do well. At any rate, he has done unbelievably well and I am so incredibly proud of his accomplishment.

SIFE is an extracurricular activity, which takes up a lot of time. There are approximately 60 members in their group and it is run like a business. They take on several projects throughout the year, helping young entrepreneurs start up businesses, give them goals, a plan and help them to implement them. Being the president, is like being the CEO of a small company. He/she must make sure everything is running smoothly and be able to liaise between the students, faculty and the business community, as well as making sure everyone is on task. Neil is totally up for the task, and he knows he is going to have an extremely busy 2008/2009. I for one am sure he will do an amazing job!

I am totally impressed with what he has done this year and will continue to do. Cudos Neil! Good job! You totally deserve it!

I am as proud of Neil as if he was my own. My own being no where near anything like that and that is what makes me so sad.
He has so much potential and is wasting, wasting,wasting it away.
I am so happy for you and for Neil. BTW Laurie I got Skype installed so we can talk now maybe pc to pc for free.
