It has been a busy week and I am now officially another year older and wiser! Friday was my birthday. I didn't do anything too spectacular to celebrate but it was a nice day nonetheless. The class I had been substituting for at the college was having their private graduation ceremony Friday and I was honoured to be invited to join them. They received their documentation saying they had officially finished the course and then we all went out for lunch. It was great to get to socialize with them away from school and we had a very nice afternoon. The rest of the day I spent doing nothing. That's right - nothing. I didn't go to my computer at all and it felt great! Donna and I watched A Love Song for Bobby Long - which is fantastic! Do see it if you haven't yet.
Thursday, I had also taken a day off. An inpromptu one. I actually hadn't planned on not working, but as it turned out I had a really great day. I went shopping! I NEVER shop for myself. Money is always too tight and I never seem to have time. However, my wonderful mother had sent me a wee monetary gift, so I decided to spend it on myself. Actually this is the first time I have done that - the money usually gets spent on groceries or the phone bill or something like that. However not this time. I went to the mall and I actually bought myself some clothes. A new dress, skirt, top, sweater and shoes. Nothing like a little retail therapy! I couldn't tell you the last time I bought clothes for myself. Anyway - it was fun, and by the time I got home, I was tired and just didn't feel like working. Other than that - things are basically normal around here. I have been reading "The New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle and also "The Untethered Soul" by Michael Singer. Both are very good and I can see a gentle shift beginning to happen. I can't read too much at one time though, because I really get sick of thinking about myself! But there is always room for self improvement, so I am doing my best to get through both books and learning what the books have to offer. I have some new pictures of our trip to the beach and one that Neil took of me in my new dress. Donna and Laura - Crescent Beach
Donna - Chillin'
Crescent Beach - Both my kids were born very near here, so we used to spend a lot of time here when they were young.
I like this shot.
Ooopps - the picture of me won't load for some reason, so I will try to ad it next time I do an entry. Peace out. { Last Page } { Page 43 of 365 } { Next Page } |
