Take the fall. Act hurt. Get indignant!
Ah......the pain. The Pens are down by 2. I am sure there are only a couple of people that will have any idea what I am talking about, but THEIR team is killing me! Well - not just me, but the Pens and Pens fans everywhere. Damn those talented Wings! Malkin, Malkin, Malkin....I mean why don't you just sit the next game out. It would be better than giving the puck away 500 times per game! And stay out of the freaking penalty box! Donna and I felt like all the air had been sucked from our bodies. I mean - two games with no goals??? What is that? Gloat while you can Wings fans, the Pens will come back once they get to Pittsburgh. (According to Grapes!) Let us hope the Pens have a come back!
For now - I feel deflated and I need sleep. Too much tension makes my teeth ache. We take our hockey VERY seriously in this house!
I know for a fact that Jana and Peter are just LOVING this!!!
Jana - thanks so much for the lovely card. I appreciate it! Love ya!
Peace out!

Geeze, a hardcore Pens fan. Life must be brutal at the moment.
Not exactly gloating, but ...

(I'm writing this just to Laurie and Donna. This is all hockey stuff, so the rest of you can ignore it.)
Ah, it was men against boys out there in the first two games. It's true that Grapes said the Penguins will be a different team in game three, back in the Igloo. But he is also saying that, well, Detroit is just too good for them.
And that's what it really amounts to. This is the first time the Pens have gone this far. The Wings have tons of playoff experience and know the pitfalls and obstacles a team can expect along the way. This is all new to the Pens. Terra incognita.
The Penguins offense is going against a really good Detroit defense. Syd has been shadowed closely all through the first two games. He's been making his rushes, but it's like he gets swallowed up in the Detroit zone--he's not getting much help from his teammates, and part of it is that the Wings aren't letting them. So Syd has to be a solo act..
Malkin, I don't know what the problem is. Maybe it's just that the fancy stuff and neat plays he could make against most teams aren't working against a fundamentally sound team like Detroit. But then he struggled for the last part of the Flyers series, too. The big question hanging in the air: Is he hurt? All those turnovers! All those penalties!
Fleury has been OK (not great) in goal, but he's really been facing an tough attack, and the Penguin defense hasn't been up to the task of stopping Zetterberg and Datsyuk and Holmstrom and their buddies. At least not so far.
A lot of their problems have to do with playoff experience. The Pens are better than they were last year, but they're not as good as they will be next year. With more seasoning, they will play a lot better. Syd will be scary good. This series with Detroit is turning into a learning experience. Let's see how fast the Pens learn--both the players and the management, as it plans for next season.
But they've bitten off a bit too much this time. I don't expect a sweep, but ...we'll see.

I don't get to watch the games! They are only on Versus and we don't get that channel any more!
At least your team is in it....The Wild have all hung up their skates and are probably out fishing!
Well ahem...
I can't add more than Peter can, but at least the Pens, (hopefully) are learning from this. I am doubting now that I heard that the coaching staff took the videos and had a temper tantrum over the penalties that weren't called, the crowding, blah blah... I mean come on!
I that the best the staff can do? I know this is a young team- or an old team full of youngsters, but open your eyes and learn!
You are being coached by the best team in the League!(for a reason!)
So we let them have game three- Wings are like a cat that way- let the mouse get away just a little then come flying out of the air and pouncing on the poor thing for the kill.
Pens will be cocky now for game 4 and that is why they will lose. We have the experience and the patience- and we will have the Cup too.
Sorry Laurie!! I take hockey just as seriously as you two do.
I was ripping out my hair last night at the pizza parlor!!
well take care and enjoy your one win...hehehehehe
HUGSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
