The Manuscript of My Life

Just passing this along ...

I just wanted to let all of you know that Abe was taken back to the hospital again last night with a collapsed lung. Patty posted an update here:http://oldladylincoln.blogspot.com/ so you can go check it out and leave a comment. I thought I would pass this on as Abe and Patty have been part of our community for a very long time and are such wonderful people. Maybe if we send out mass prayers and positive thoughts it will help him heal.

Oh dear! Thank you for sharing this with us!!! Poor Patty must be beside herself with worry, seeing this is happening so soon after his last bout. My prayers join yours, for his complete recovery!

Thank you

He seemed a lot better yesterday when I was in to see him, and this morning I've all ready talked with him on the phone. Want to get myself dressed and run down there. It's raining here but temps are suppose to stay warmer, so I don't have to worry about it freezing until tonight later. What makes this so bad is the fact this same lung collapsed on Nov. 25th. And it also had collapsed back in 1981 the first time. Now they are thinking about doing a procedure where they make about four small incisions, go in and take a look, and see if they can remove any of the blebs, which the lung doctor said he didn't know if they could or not, since he has so many, then coat the entire lung with this talc stuff. That is what they tried when he was in there in Nov. But they did it then by blowing it into the chest tube, apparently it didn't cover it well enough. This time the chest tube is also a little larger then the last time. They make an incision in the rib cage and jam that tube between a couple of ribs and into the lung as soon as they do that it starts to inflate again. Myself I can't even begin to imagine. Someone said they sometimes send a patient home with a chest tube, I hope not, I would be afraid I would knock it out trying to clean it for him. Have to run. Again, thanks for your visit and comments and for posting on your blog. We appreciate it. Merry Christmas to you, Donna and Neal.

Ya I read this on Patty's blogspot blog myself the night it happened.
I feel so helpless knowing that they are going through all of that. I am glad they have family close by.
Ugh. How are you and Donna doing? I heard it was snowing there tonight while the Canucks wiped the Panthers.
It's snowing here too!
