The Manuscript of My Life

Behind the Glass, Ice Level

Thursday night the Anaheim Ducks were in town playing the Canucks. Because of the generosity of our favorite Duck, Scott Niedermayer we got tickets to the game for myself, Donna, Neil and Brenna. When we arrived we discovered we were ice level right behind the goalie! Our absolute favorite place to be. We don't get to sit here often, but when we do we thoroughly enjoy it. Seeing the game with the same view as the goalie is unbelievable. And - there is nothing quite like George Paros or Matts Sundin smashing into the boards 5 inches in front of you face. All it all, it was a fantastic game. It was very close and ended in a 5-5 tie and went into a scoreless overtime. The shootout favoured the Ducks and they won the game. Ordinarily we have a hard time at these games and never quite know who to cheer for...the hometown boys or the guy that buys you the ticket. We usually end up being wishy washy and cheering for both teams. Thursday night though we were unequivocally cheering for the Ducks as they really need to make the play offs. Hopefully if they make it to the second round, we'll catch a game or two when we are in Anaheim. At any rate, it was a great night and we had a lot of fun.

Here are a few pictures of our night. Unfortunately, I didn't get more shots as the stupid battery died in my camera, but I did get enough to document the fun.

Awesome seats! I would love to get seats that close! I have been trying for years to get tickets to see a Minnesota Wild game. They are always sold out. When I do find tickets the are way out of my price range.

LMC: Tickets are always sold out to the Canucks as well, and the only time we ever get to go is when the Ducks are in town. Scott N #27 is married to my niece, so he always gets us tickets. We are very lucky!

Good to know, When the Wild play them (next season) I won't cheer so loud when he gets slamed into the boards ;) .....but the rest of the team is fair game!

Dan and I sat behind Cujo once but up a couple of rows when we went to see the Wings play the Sharks in 2004. It was an awesome place to sit!
I had never been so close before and I was so excited through the whole game. We lost but oh well.
These photos are awesome Laurie. I am surprised that the Ducks haven't fared so well this season. What gives?

I am totally disgusted with the Wings myself if that makes you feel any better. They have played the worst hockey ever this season. Stanley Cup? What's that???
(now watch them make a liar out of me....)
